Its a big 25 degrees as I write this note.. The wind is blowing like crazy, I still have thoughts of getting out and being social.. Boaters are very social folks and they have been known to enjoy a cocktail beverage or two.. Boating in the mid west has a few downsides ie: snow, ice, frozen rivers. With this in mind I have an idea "Boaters who want to Bowl".. I have talked with Riverboat Lanes in Godfrey and they say Saturdays we can get lanes.
We are making plans on having a GREAT time on Jan 30th @ 6:30. You can come a bit early and hit Fast Eddies or get a bite to eat or even check on your boat. If this interests you please drop me a line on ideas and reservations, I will need to give them a count of boaters coming so we can have enough lanes.
Please respond to my email as I will be reserving the lanes. Thanks Bunches
Thank you so much Karen and Jeremy for your help.
Happy New Year Cindy & George Bray

Looks like the cold temperatures have really set in and we're in for at least a few more months of this before we can get back out on the water. This photo is a pic of ice formed on the hull of one of the boats out at the marina. We're glad the aeriators are in place keeping the ice from building up around all the boats.
In case you didn't get out there to see the marina in December, you missed seeing Karen, Jeremy, and the staff's Christmas Decorations! Here's a photo of the lighthouse all lit up.
This past Sunday was a great day for boating and checking out the fall colors. I took these photos about 4 miles above Alton Marina along the river road running to Grafton. The camera just does not capture the colors. The colors should be really great this weekend – get out there if you can.
Brad, Just read this email from one of our friends from Sunset. They passed through here on their boat heading south about two weeks ago. Kathy sent us this. Really scarey. Thought you might want to share.
Green Turtle Bay is a lovely marina near Paducah KY. We kept our boat there for a month this summer so our grandkids and great niece could enjoy the facilities. It's sad to think how quickly a tragedy of this magnitude can develop. The couple were on an extended trip from Tennessee. Sadly, neither of them survived.
NOW...May be a good time to re-think the emergency response policies, wherever your boat is docked. October is "Fire Prevention Month".
